The Silva Methodology, its guided meditation training and mindfulness exercises and techniques, has received the full endorsement of Mark Robert Waldman. He is the bestselling author of the book: How God Changes your Brain. He is also one of the world’s leading experts on spirituality and brain functioning.

In his words: Based on the newest findings from Harvard’s recent genetic study on the effects of relaxation, breathing awareness, and positive guided imagery. “I feel confident that many of the methods, as taught by Silva International can stimulate gene expressions in the brain that are involved in reducing physical and psychological stress and boosting immune functioning”.

Jose Silva created this mental technology and methodology way back in 1966 when the majority of people were unaware of how the brain functioned, the different frequencies that it operates in, and how to access these frequencies in order to create a more balanced, happy and harmonious lifestyle.

Till recently, science believed that the brain was hard wired (basically meaning that it couldn’t learn anything new). “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks”, was the common misconception that was applied to the brain, and whatever you inherited from your parents was what you were stuck with for life, whether it was your genes, your behaviour traits and thinking patterns. Now scientific research has revealed that the brain is “plastic”, hence the term neuroplasticity. This research has proved that old patterns running in the brain can be re-patterned through relaxation and mindfulness techniques. This is of vital importance because it means that you CAN change the patterns and programs including your genes through learning how to calm the mind, body and brain. Once the body, brain and mind are in a state of balance then changing old conditioning and introducing new ways of thinking and modifying behaviour for positive outcomes is possible. In addition, one can now tap into the dormant talents, skills and capability that lie within each human being.

Every time you think a circuit is created. If the same kind of thought and thinking is repeated over time, this creates a particular belief, which then creates an emotion which leads to a specific behaviour and results in a particular outcome either positive or negative. By learning new ways of thinking, which is what the Silva Method training is all about, new neural pathways or circuits are ignited. When these pathways are reinforced through repetition, the brain impresses this information on the neurons causing them to fire in this new manner. Through each and every guided meditation exercise, the new learning and behaviour is reinforced, so that at the end of the training, the student can access this information at will.

Every guided meditation exercise and mindfulness technique as taught in the Silva training includes relaxation, breathing, focused attention, present moment awareness, positive guided imagery and visualization. Finally and most important, the student for the first time becomes aware of the negative words and language that he/she has been using unconsciously and on “automatic-pilot” for most of their life. They learn how to change their mental talk and their words, whether they think them or verbalise them and by changing their words and thinking they change their brain. This is why meditation, specifically dynamic meditation as taught in the Silva methodology creates lasting change in the brain. And by changing the brain, you change and transform your life.

All of this is accomplished at the deep meditative alpha brain frequency, which is the level of the subconscious mind.

The reason the Silva Method training continues to thrive is because it creates the foundation for training both the brain and mind to create new patterns and circuits which are life enhancing and transforming. This leads to a happier, inspired and empowered individual.
